The original Shiloh
Park Commission, made up of battle veterans, planned and erected
an extensive system of historical plaques and troop position markers.
Many participating states worked with the Commission to design and
construct monuments to their troops.
This "Monument
Location System" allows quick access to any of the hundreds
of commemorative features placed on Shiloh Battlefield after 1894.
Grid coordinate locations
given for monuments and markers correspond to the Trailhead Graphics,
Inc. Civil War Battlefield Series Map #102, the only map of the
park showing all current monumentation. This indispensable publication
is available from the Shiloh
Bookstore.
